This is undoubtedly Salman Khan's best movie ever! What a masterpiece of a movie with: 1) one of the best stories presented on the big screen in the past decade, 2) unbelievable acting by each and every member of the cast, particularly Nawazuddin and the little charming girl - Harshaali, 3) some of the most soulful songs heard in the recent past, esp the one sung by Adnan Sami, and last but not the least 4) Salman Khan being at his best in all forms of acting, especially his best emotional scenes ever. Salman Khan, aka Bajrangi will blow you away in this smoothly paced and highly entertaining + engaging drama - with Shahida by his side. A must must watch movie for each and every member of the family, friends, siblings, kids, partners etc etc.

But please, whatever you do DO NOT read any comments (like this one) before you go see the movie, it can ruin it for you... And watch the credits until the end, there are surprises... I must accept that Balki is a master director.

The audacity with which Balki has given homage to Bachchan baritone is spellbinding. It is not just a tribute to Bachchan baritone but also an awe-inspiring ode to perishability of a man's life.

In his third directorial venture, Balki takes the voice of Mr. Bachchan and puts it on Dhanush. Got gooseflesh? Yes, it is a daring attempt. Surprisingly, Balki flourishes in this attempt.

Shamitabh revolves around three characters primarily: an actor Danish, a voice lender Amitabh and a bubbly assistant director Akshara.

A big wow then to Amitabh Bachchan, the film's marvelous pivot. We shouldn't be surprised by anymore Bachchanism, but the man -- currently, constantly pushing himself onto a limb, decidedly making 2015 his own -- is an indisputable rockstar.

Dhanush proves his supremacy yet again. The actor is natural all through, but his performance in the finale makes the character all the more believable. Akshara is such a revelation. She stands on her feet despite a formidable co-star's domineering presence.

Director Balki shows a flair for light entertainers and the execution of certain sequences is commendable. Cinematography is splendid. Ilaiyaraaja's musical score is soothing. The title track is soft on your ear drums. Editing could've been sharper. Ideally, a few repetitive moments can be done away with.

Shamitabh isn't a groundbreaking film, but it didn't set out to be?!

Overall, it's a maturely written film with great characters, tremendous performances and some fantastic moments.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a 2015 Indian rom-com directed by Anand L. Rai and is the sequel to the 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu, also directed by Rai. Written by Himanshu Sharma, Tanu Weds Manu Returns stars Kangana Ranaut, R. Madhavan, Jimmy Shergill, and Deepak Dobriyal in the pivotal roles. The movie is set four years after the dramatic turn of events of Tanu Weds Manu wherein the seemingly incompatible duo of Manu and Tanu had managed to get hitched, overcoming all odds. Manu and Tanu now find themselves on the brink of separation. As with all things life, the passion has subsided and it's replaced by monotony and solitude. Their marriage seems more like a burden and a formality than a symbol of mutual love and respect. Their decisions are no longer driven by love but by their own egos. And yet, whether they want to believe it or not, all is not lost. And, so, they must both suffer, for although life is a great teacher, alas, it teaches the things the hard way. As a scrutiny of the institution of marriage, Tanu Weds Manu Returns reminds this critic of Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors: White (1994) and Kangana Ranaut's performance of a seemingly selfish, inconsiderate wife of Julie Delpy's turn in the very film.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is the kind of cinema that the Indian masses crave for. It's a formula that just cannot fail in a diverse and colorful country like India. Indians love to celebrate. The dozen or two festivals are just not enough. Festivities are an innate part of our lives. And marriage functions are the grandest of them all. For us, marriage is just not a union of two individuals but it's an alliance of two families. It's an occasion that gets everyone excitedâ€"be it the children, the young, or the oldâ€"for it is perceived as the greatest celebration of life. In short, the marriages are a singularly viable business. For Bollywood, it's a bankable subject like no other. Some of the biggest commercial hits in the history of Hindi cinema revolved around the theme of marriage. Films such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! (1994) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) exploited the Indian sentimentality for the traditions and rituals associated with marriage particularly well. While Tanu Weds Manu was a testament to the efficacy of very fabric of marriage in binding us together, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a gentle reminder of its fallibility.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a non-stop entertainer from start to finish, but, in order to fully enjoy the film, one needs to be credulous enough to believe anything and everything that's on offer. In other words, the viewer must be willing to suspend the disbelief concerning the implausibility of the narrative. Once the viewer makes this compromise, Tanu Weds Manu Returns will prove to be a roller-coaster of a ride. The film certainly shows us the dark side of marriage but it does so without appearing too grim. Marriage is like any other partnership but sometimes the patriarchal mindset can make the male partner behave in a rather chauvinistic manner. Now, that's fine as long as the fairer sex is willing to bend but the modern Indian woman can be every bit as feministic in her ways—it will certainly set the two of them on a collision path. In Tanu Weds Manu Returns, we witness how a free-spirited girl and her pragmatic husband fail to meet each other's expectations. How a lack of mutual understanding and respect takes them on the brink of divorce. How young couples forget that a marriage is never "all take and no give."

Overall, Tanu Weds Manu Returns offers truckloads of entertainment and can be enjoyed by one and all. Its witty dialogues and crude humor immensely add to its entertainment value. The movie offers an undercurrent of social commentary which is quite relevant to the modern Indian society. It's also serves as a critique of the institution of marriage. But, it shouldn't be mistaken for anything more than what it really isâ€"a sophisticated example of commercial escapism in cinema. Riding high on the success of Queen (2013), Kangana Ranaut once again carries a film on her able shoulders with her essaying not one but two contrasting albeit powerful caricatures (both of which are a treat to watch). She is well supported by the rest of the cast. There's no denying the fact that Kangana is the most bankable actress in Bollywood today. She is no longer the troubled prodigy she once was and has certainly come of age as an actress par-excellence as far as Hindi cinema is concerned. Tanu Weds Manu Returns has its share of flaws and it relies heavily on time-tested gimmicks but that doesn't stop it from serving its purpose, that of entertaining the masses. Recommended!

This year has been quite dull for Hindi cinema so far, but director Shoojit Sircar ups the bench with his latest release Piku ~ a comical, heartfelt tale of an ageing father and his accommodating daughter.

Deepika Padukone plays the role of Piku Banerjee, a 30-year-old Bengali architect living in New Delhi with her father Bhaskor, who has suffered from constipation throughout his life and has to yet find a cure for it.

From his medication to his health reports and his regular blood pressure checks, Piku is responsible for every aspect of his health and constantly finds herself nursing her demanding father, often at the cost of her own sanity and her personal life.

It seems like Bhaskor's character has been created keeping a needy child in mind. Everything he says is a call for attention or a complaint about his health. Piku, on the other hand, appears to be frustrated with her father's childish behavior and his constant need for her attention for the smallest of things. She gets irritated when she is updated on each and every cell's movement in her father's body, and they often argue and banter about his self-imagined health issues.

The film progresses as Bhaskor demands to take a trip to Calcutta to visit the family property, and insists on traveling by road as being in a train or a plane will disturb his bowels. Piku then arranges a car and a driver to drive them.

When the driver of the rent-a-car company ditches them, the owner Irrfan Khan steps in and decides to take charge of the journey. And so, the 3 principle characters of the film set out on a long road trip full of disagreements, toilet breaks, and eventually, some bonding sessions between the characters.

The casting of the film couldn't be any better, with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone boasting superb father-daughter chemistry whenever they are on screen. Both play their part with brilliance and prove that they are truly Bollywood's finest actors in the business. Masuma Chatterjee plays Deepika's aunt in the film and makes the audience roar with laughter with her one-liners and her perfect comic timing. Irrfan Khan as Rana Choudhary is suitable for the role and also initiates many of the humorous scenes in the film.

Last year it was Queen, and this year it is Piku that touches your heart and brings a large smile on your face as you exit the cinema hall. If you haven't watched it yet, then stop everything else and book your tickets to watch this year's best film so far.

I have to admit, this movie blew me away! I am a die hard fan of the original and love the other two as well, but I feel this movie stepped up the franchise in every way! I had high expectations and Mr. Trevorrow more than delivered! Finally a great sequel to the original movie that made me love movies in the first place!

The biggest thing I loved was the thing I feared for the most. The Indominus rex was terrifying! I worried it would be written too intelligently or practically invincible, but it was a terrifying Frankenstein Dino hybrid that truly amazes and scares. It had my heart pounding at certain scenes and that does not happen to me...ever! I can finally say I left a movie with a euphoric feeling!

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Movie  Reviews

Dilwale made me glad to be a Westerner, just so I could experience the sheer rush in the glorious way this film simply throws its Indian sensibility in your face. It is one of the most completely, openly joyful films I have ever seen. In many ways a totally Western film, it is yet completely un-Western, and absolutely invigorating.

I found the (rather oddly looped in places) mix of Hindi and English dialog to be a lot of fun to follow (as incomplete as the subtitles sometimes seemed). The Indian/Western pop structure of the songs was entertaining and infectious. The choreography is simply amazing, and some of the most sheerly athletic I've seen. The Indian roots of the dance routines were at first almost unnerving--at once familiar yet bizarre, almost surreal (to my Western eyes). It was sheer fun making the cultural adjustment.

The plot is predictable, almost pedestrian--certainly not what you'd call "never done before," and yet I found myself completely absorbed in the story, and rooting for the main characters. This is in large part due to Shahrukh Khan's and Kajol's performances as Raj and Simran. He is totally endearing, and she is totally hot!, and their on screen chemistry is as cute & perky and smoldering & steamy as Fred and Ginger at their peak. It was, simply put, fun to watch them having so much fun.

Director Aditya Chopra was, I understand, only 24 when he made Dilwale, and the film was so successful its Indian first run lasted a world-record 11 years (and may still be going on, as far as I know). A heckuva testimony to Bollywood indeed. This movie has instantly become one of my favorite musicals, and I look forward to finding more films from Chopra, Khan, and Kajol. What a treat!

This movie is so bad, so bad that those who will vote for it are either related to this movie or never went to any school,college,never learned anything or have never seen any good film in their life.

Except for few funny scenes this movie is a torture. By torture I mean serious brain torture & I am not joking. Its literally a torture.

It is a shame that Indian movies have stooped to such a low level. Even a gutter will be better than this _____(what should I call it I don't know.)

This pathetic almost 3 hours of movie contains cheaply borrowed non hilarious item from other movies. Even the name charlie will remind you of The Italian job. I don't know if the self proclaimed director has seen anything better than that movie or thinks Indian audience is that much idiot.

The story is no doubt a cliché but could have been presented well. However the makers of this film spend no time in thinking of something creative. The dialogues are very very cheap. The actors had nothing to do, The editing is bad,I will ignore the direction because in bollywood almost anybody can direct a film if they have money. Only the songs were okay.

I would recommend to avoid this movie even if you get a chance to see it for free. Because wasting even an hour on this movie is like asking too much for it.

Goodness me, what a fantastic movie. Caught the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and the entire theater laughed until they cried. Amazingly directed, HILARIOUSLY funny, it blends a 1930s gangster stylishness into a Hong Kong kung fu movie to astonishing results. Who would've thought you could top Shaolin Soccer? Not me, until I saw this movie. Stephen Chow pulled it off. Chow's comedic timing gets better and better with every movie he makes, and while his films are depending more and more on CGI these days, and makes this movie much more a fantasy kung fu film than a traditional one, it hardly detracts from the enjoyable experience. Make it your mission to see this film - it will be one of the most entertaining you ever see. I can't remember the last film I enjoyed myself in more. My eyes still hurt from wiping away tears of laughter. Seriously.

Pitch perfect was one of the best movies if you love acapella, but Pitch Perfect 2, is just as good if not better, and less about romance, and more about humor.

The personalities of each of the bellas is just perfect. The music is top notch.

Anna Kendrick has got to be the cutest non-conformist ever. Its not about being cool, or about being mean to each other through competition, its about being an individual.

I think I might enjoy the comedy/horror genre more than the actual horror films they parody. James Gunn, (yes, the man who brought us what I can only imagine are fantastic scripts for Scooby Doo 1 & 2—not sure since I would never watch them), has broken into the mix with his film Slither. It appears he understands the appeal these films have and jam-packs it with gore, camp, and humor. The audience can never wonder if what transpires is unintentionally funny because they are too busy thinking about the parts that are unintentionally scary. A comedy, through and through, Gunn gathers a nice group of actors to play up the cheese yet still make us believe they are smack in the middle of the otherworldly situation they are in.

The basic premise here is that an alien life form—not Martians as they are from Mars of course—has come to Earth to make it its next world for consumption. Our villain inhabits a local and makes him go out to either infect, impregnate, or devour all other forms of meat, human or otherwise, along his journey. This host just happens to be involved in a somewhat loveless marriage with the resident good-looking teacher, who or course is the object of our hero's affection, the chief of police. Once the creature's first mate unleashes his spawn of collective-consciousness worms, the town comes under attack and only the chief, the host's wife, and the obnoxious mayor can save the day.

Amidst all the zombie-turning and the blood, acid spit, and limb jellying, we are treated with some great laughs and one-liners from people who truly know how to deliver the script deadpan for added effectiveness. The great Michael Rooker plays the host body to campy perfection. What role of his hasn't oozed tongue-in-cheek outbursts and over-the-top facial expressions? Gregg Henry takes the unpolished politician to new heights and everything he says gets a laugh as result. Even his introduction in the film, swearing in the midst of his constituents and their children, is a tired gimmick, but still effectively funny. As for our real heroes, we are treated to some good forbidden chemistry between Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks. Fillion is king of sarcasm and always stays in a realistic mode unfazed by the horrors happening around him. Someone else could have allowed the film to become unhinged if they didn't take this role seriously; the comedy relies on this character not seeing the humor around him. With Banks, a favorite of mine who is underused in movies, I was not a big fan of the fake accent, but I guess it does fit the aesthetic of what is going on. And as the mayor says, she is hardcore—when she kills her first infected assailant, it's priceless.

Definitely more entertaining than expected, I can still understand the lack of love at the box office. The trailers showed that there would be some subversion to the horror with humor, but didn't quite go all the way with it. I'm sure people were confused in what to expect and those who wanted scares were disappointed as were those that wanted pure laughs. To me, Gunn masterfully mixes the two just right for an enjoyable ride in Hicksville, USA during an interstellar battle for supremacy. He gets all the little moments right, the grenade folly, the corny love scene music, and even the extras looking like they are from a backwoods/ incestuous town. Storyline

Mr. Bean enters a church raffle and wins a vacation trip to France as well as a camcorder. After boarding a Eurostar train and arriving in Paris, the French language proves a barrier for Bean, as he struggles to get across the city to catch a train to the south of France from the Gare de Lyon. Taking time to order a meal, he finds the consumption of a seafood platter to be a challenge. Just before catching his train, he asks Emil, a Russian film director on his way to be a judge at the Cannes Film festival to use his camcorder to record his boarding, but accidentally causes Emil being left behind at the station. Bean attempts to cheer up the director's son Stepan as the train continues south but matters are made more hectic by the fact that Emil has reported his son to have been kidnapped and Bean losing his wallet and essential travel documents at a pay phone where he and Stepan attempt to contact Emil. Heading in the direction of Cannes, Bean finds himself in the cast and disrupting.

Mr. Bean's Holdiay was a movie I really enjoyed. Mr. Bean was back in true form, and delivered an unexpectedly funny movie. Part of Mr. Bean's humor is when something is about to happen, you can see it from a mile away, and you yell at the screen "look out Mr. Bean!" or "He left it on the counter! Oh No!" or what have you. There is plenty of this,but there is also a great deal of irony and clever wordplay in it as well. It's a well rounded comedy movie, that will be funny to children and adults alike. I'm not really a big Mr. Bean fan, but I really liked this movie anyway, and I know that most people will too, if they give it a chance. I will definitely recommend this movie to my friends, and to anyone who reads this review.

Storyline

Using their wits, Ganpatrao "Babubhai" Apte, Ghanshyam "Shyam", and Raju find themselves wealthy beyond their imagination. They each have a car, a palatial house with a huge swimming pool, that Babubhai is yet to familiarize himself with, and a very easy life. Then Raju finds out that he can double his wealth in 21 days, and meets with an attractive young woman named Anuradha from an agency in Bombay's business district. She informs him that the minimum investment is one Crore, and Raju quickly agrees to invest this money. He dupes another man by the name of Pappu into parting with 50 Lakhs, and the rest of the money comes through by getting Shyam and Babu to sign away their respective investments. After 21 days when the trio go to collect their doubled wealth, they find that Anuradha and her company have disappeared. Devastated, they move out of their bungalow and are now living in a shanty room in a Chawl when they get a visit from Pappu, who wants his money back, as he owes this

Yes i was one of those unfortunate fellows who got to watch this CRAP FEST before i could get my hands on Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, a movie which has rightfully earned its place among the 5 best movies i have ever seen, and made Guy Ritchie my fav director!

But this GARBAGE made me a bit aware of what might happen next in Lock Stock...! And i can never ever forgive Bollywood for such Blasphemy!! 

I mean first of all, how can u even THINK of ripping off one of the best cult classics ever to emerge out of British Cinema!? And then to convert it SO DAM POORLY into the second half of a movie with absolutely no strengths but the mere fact that the first one was a huge hit!!? The director n writer should be SODOMISED WITH DONKEY D*CKS for merely thinking abt doing such a thing! 

I was literally pulling my hair when i started to notice the similarity of Lock Stock to this SHITTY DUMBASS FLICK! But the greatness of Lock Stock was such that it bypassed this similarity and removed it from my mind, with its excellent screenplay and camera-work and characters doing their job to the last pence! 

Btw, Lock Stock earned back its budget in the opening weekend itself, and made Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones Hollywood stars overnight!

But what can you expect from Bollywood nowadays when Akshay Kumar is now the highest paid actor and all his recent movies has him playin THE SAME DAM CHARACTER over n over n over again!!
