I have always believed that music has no boundary. After watching ABCD , my saying has changed and I would say that dancing "pumps up your heartbeat , refreshes your mind and will make you forget about all the worries in life". Any Body Can Dance 2 scores big on choreography but loses its sheen with wafer thin screenplay and predictable plot.

A brilliant dance group is disqualified from a competition after it is claimed that their dance skills are copied. To prove their mettle , group starts on their own company by hiring a maestro to win the biggest dance event in Las Vegas.

Directed by Remo ( FALTU, ABCD) , ABCD 2 takes you by complete surprise with excellent presentation of dancing skills and beautiful choreography. Remo , being a great choreography himself, does a superb job as director making sure that film is made with universal appeal. The opening scene was mind blowing which continues until the 1st half. The story line and screenplay tumbles down and it becomes monotonous and predictable. Editing is weak and the film should easily be trimmed for 30 minutes. Another disappointment is average performance from Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and even Prabhu Deva who has been in the industry for quite sometime. Varun Dhawan, coming from winning accolades in Badlapur, does well in his dancing skills but simply overacts. Shradha Kapoor is passable. Rest of the star cast is strictly okay. As for Prabhudeva, watch for him dancing extensively in the disco scene and you will know he is one of the best dancers in the country but acting takes a downhill. Screenplay is lose coupled with loopholes. Cinematography is eye-catching capturing the wonderful choreography with ease. Dialogues are bad. Background score is good though it has shades of STEP UP series. However , I felt music could have been better considering it to be a musical movie. Barring tuneful "Naach Meri Jaana" with wonderful picturization , other songs were average.

Overall , ABCD 2 is predictable and boring but a must watch for the dance lovers.

I find it hard to believe that kid's movies these days will ever be called classics in years to come (excluding Pixar movies). In my mind, this is the last classic hand drawn film, and it upsets me that I have to wait for another five years for it to come out on DVD. This film deals with great issues and involves a huge conflict for the main character, something that recent kid/family films lack. It is funny and lighthearted when it should be, and heartfelt and serious when it needs it. I believe that everybody should see this movie, regardless of your age. It may just be the last good movie that Disney will ever do without the help of Pixar.

I will make my comments without spoilers so that people who haven't yet seen the movie can read it.

One of the worst things that can happen in a sequel to a successful movie is that audiences will feel like they're seeing the same movie again with slight variations on the theme. Dead Man's Chest gives us all the characters we loved in the first movie, but puts them in a refreshingly original movie. The action sequences will keep you on the edge of your seat. And there are more laugh-out-loud moments in this movie than in most comedies. I felt entertained from the beginning right through to the special scene after the closing credits. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I and my entire family will be going to see it again today.

For parents with young children: This movie is more violent than the first movie. There is a lot of killing, though none of it is shown close up or in a grisly manner. Davey Jones and his gang are very gross. In the screening I attended, there were a lot of "Ewwww!"s from the audience. If you have sensitive young ones, you should probably leave them at home.

This is an appalling film, my wife suggested it, she was quite embarrassed by 60 minutes at putting me through something so inhuman and by the time they fought monkeys she was positively apologetic, do yourself a favor if you want a chick flick watch Bridget Jones or something and if you want a good film in the society gone mad survival genre watch battle royale. Or if you have no choice but to watch Hunger Games Catching Fire and you are not a 12 year old girl, do yourself a favor and set yourself on fire before hand, the pain of healing burns will at least distract you from this piece of over budgeted under written turd.

The first time I saw E.T was at the age of 12 and I cried. Really cried. Six years later, I still cry at it. The ability of this film to pull emotions out of you is unlike most films we see today.

As many of the users have said, this is a film made for children and it achieves this brilliantly.

I do feel as well that it targets adults, returnign them to their innocence. The time of our lives when mothing was impossible and everything had goodness in it. In modern times it is all too often seen that children are desperate to become adults and lose their innocence far too quickly. This story in which S.S developed helps adults to return to that time.

I would give this film 11/10. Anyone who feels that it is not heart warming and emotional, I think have been watching a totally different film!!!!!

Still it's been a long time since I've seen an entire theater laugh from the start till the end of a movie. Wonderful new characters (you have to love the pussy in boots), superb animation and a all-round well made movie for everyone to enjoy. But please, whatever you do DO NOT read any comments (like this one) before you go see the movie, it can ruin it for you... And watch the credits until the end, there are surprises... I had the honor of watching TDKR during a screening and was completely blown away! Christopher Nolan's third film in his Batman trilogy doesn't disappoint. The movie is incredibly well made, its huge production is quite breathtaking to view. This is a true cinematic experience, to behold. The movie exceeded my expectations in terms of action, and entertainment. The movie's score high-lites many of its incredible scenes, and at times, it takes your breath away.

The film featured excellent performances, by all the cast. Christian Bale, as always is great as Batman. Anne Hathaway was completely engrossing, she became "Catwoman", just like Michele Pfeiffer did, although their interpretations were very different, both were equally effective. Tom Hardy was the main villain "Bane" completely shattered my expectations. One of the best superhero movie villains, I've ever seen. The terror caused by him, is completely believable and quite menacing. Marlion Cotilliard, Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, and others all did well in their respective roles. Now I know most will miss Heath Ledger as the Joker.(I know I do) I hope people don't compare Tom Hardy's performance to Heath Ledger's, its completely unfair and the two characters are very different. Just read the comics.

The colossal size of the film is a spectacle to behold, but surprisingly you don't get lost with all the explosions and extravagant action scenes, like in other films,(AKA Transformers, or POTC.) If one were to gripe, and I suppose there will never be a film made that one cannot find a point at which to grip, it is painfully long running time here. I found myself more worried about the pain in my posterior than the emotional final minutes after almost 3 hours that I had spent in a cramped seat, but that's just how I am. However the ending is just fantastic, so emotional and bring the trilogy to a very satisfying end.

Sorry if I'm being all fan-boyish and kissing this movie's behind, but I really admire it. It may not be among my personal favorites but generally this seems to be the movie event of this year. As a film though, this is amazing. A true lasting legacy in superhero story telling and summer-blockbusters.

Today it is probable that pc games will offer a deeper and more satisfying entertainment solution, but for pure visual and aural pleasure, mixed with basic emotional manipulation, there has never and will never be a better example of cinema than when star wars appeared over 25 years ago. When you think of star wars, you must remember what else was happening at the time. In America, the war in Vietnam had been lost. In the U.K economic disaster was occurring(a 3 day working week, and the army collecting rubbish). It was almost like the two most technically advanced countries in the world were going backwards. Star wars let everybody escape from that reality and reach for a future that was uncertain but ultimately good.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace Movie  Reviews

The main line of defence seems to be: lighten up, it's just entertainment / just a kid's movie / just a special effects flick. Pausing awhile to note that people who run this line of defence have all but conceded that the film is, in fact, bad, let's take these points one by one - shall we?

As entertainment it's poor. Dialogue is flat and perfunctory (don't expect to be dazzled by repartee); the story lacks the beauty of the first Star Wars film and the tension of the second ... and then there's the magical `character development' everyone complains about. We must distinguish character development from character delineation. The former is nice, but the latter is absolutely essential, and it's the latter that's missing from `The Phantom Menace'. Jar Jar, the young Obi Wan, Darth Maul, Armidala, Annakin - all are scarcely characters at all, and are very difficult to get enthused about. Jar Jar in particular is a collection of mannerisms, nothing more. This lack of character doesn't just prevent the film from becoming the darling of the intellectuals - it makes it dull. There are hundreds more entertaining films. Only those people who entered the cinema carrying plastic light sabers, grimly determined to enjoy themselves, failed to notice this.

It's a kid's movie. Well, yes, in a sense - but not a good sense. Good children's movies form a proper subset of good movies - simply because adults have access to all childhood emotions and desires, but not vice versa. So in one sense a `kid's movie' is just a movie that can be understood and apperaciated by children (as well as adults). Is this a kid's movie in that sense? Maybe. But it's also a kid's movie in the bad sense: it's deeply witless, and inexperienced children might - I say, MIGHT

• fail to notice just how witless it is. Children may - I say, MAY - ignore

the fact that Jar Jar Binks is a deeply irritating non-character because he is all colour and movement and he speaks funny. Is this really all we want?

Special effects. These aren't so hot, either. George Lucas has fallen in love with computers and failed to notice that his digital animals don't move at all in the way that real animals move - worse still, they don't move like any kind of physical object at all. Nor do most of the alleged physical objects. Compare the trundling white juggernaut at the start of `Star Wars'

• a convincingly solid model - with the insubstantial collection of pixels

that darts past us at the start of `The Phantom Menace'. The special effects have actually deteriorated, and to make matters worse, there are more of them.

So the defence that `The Phantom Menace' is allowed to be a poor movie because it really wasn't trying to be something great in the first place, just won't wash. Especially so, given the ludicrous claims George Lucas has arrogantly made, again and again. So Jar Jar Binks is the first digitally created main character? Rubbish - the dragon in `Dragonheart' predates it (and, one might add, is at the very least a genuine character). So George Lucas is pioneering a new kind of filming-making, more like painting and less like photography, than the old? Absolute twaddle - Walt Disney did THAT in the 1930s. I'll tell you what IS new. Never before has there been so much sizzle, and so little sausage.

Storyline

After twelve arduous labours and the loss of his family, this dark, world-weary soul turned his back on the gods finding his only solace in bloody battle. Over the years he warmed to the company of six similar souls, their only bond being their love of fighting and presence of death. These men and women never question where they go to fight or why or whom, just how much they will be paid. Now the King of Thrace has hired these mercenaries to train his men to become the greatest army of all time. It is time for this bunch of lost souls to finally have their eyes opened to how far they have fallen when they must train an army to become as ruthless and blood thirsty as their reputation has become.

Hercules Movie Reviews

A lot of people went into this movie with expectations that this would follow the mythology, and I think that's what let them down. However, as an artistic representation of not only the myths, but a possible truth behind the myths, this was an entertaining watch.

I'm only vaguely familiarly with the mythology, but I know enough to know the way it was represented. This film represents that mythology in a different way - more genuinely believable, and less fantastic - but blends the original mythos in in a way I found very interesting. A lot can be forgiven for an intelligent, new look at an old story, and I don't think this film needs to be forgiven very much at all.

The story was fairly well rounded with a some light/moderate complexity to it which was nice, and it was much less far-fetched than I thought it would be. The acting was - in general - excellent, with only one or two instances where I thought it was a bit too cheesy or overdone.

Dwayne Johnson was fantastic; having seen him in several films I was expecting a less solemn, more caricatured, performance. But he was excellent, and I have gained a little more respect for him as a serious actor (though I wouldn't cast him outside head-bashing quite yet).

Overall an underrated movie in my opinion, and definitely worth a watch if you like a good story.

But with a help of a third party (Aksara Hassan), when they come together, the talents combined, make a complete new Artist. Dhanush becomes the actor onscreen and Amitabh becomes his Voice. But after reaching the peak of success, Both the leads start to become miserable to the question of having more importance in the unique cocktail. An unstoppable fight of ego comes in action And the clash drifts them apart, destroying every greatness they achieved and every possible milestones they could build together.

I must accept that Balki is a master director.

The audacity with which Balki has given homage to Bachchan baritone is spellbinding. It is not just a tribute to Bachchan baritone but also an awe-inspiring ode to perishability of a man's life.

In his third directorial venture, Balki takes the voice of Mr. Bachchan and puts it on Dhanush. Got gooseflesh? Yes, it is a daring attempt. Surprisingly, Balki flourishes in this attempt.

Shamitabh revolves around three characters primarily: an actor Danish, a voice lender Amitabh and a bubbly assistant director Akshara.

A big wow then to Amitabh Bachchan, the film's marvelous pivot. We shouldn't be surprised by anymore Bachchanism, but the man -- currently, constantly pushing himself onto a limb, decidedly making 2015 his own -- is an indisputable rockstar.

Dhanush proves his supremacy yet again. The actor is natural all through, but his performance in the finale makes the character all the more believable. Akshara is such a revelation. She stands on her feet despite a formidable co-star's domineering presence.

Director Balki shows a flair for light entertainers and the execution of certain sequences is commendable. Cinematography is splendid. Ilaiyaraaja's musical score is soothing. The title track is soft on your ear drums. Editing could've been sharper. Ideally, a few repetitive moments can be done away with.

Shamitabh isn't a groundbreaking film, but it didn't set out to be?!

Overall, it's a maturely written film with great characters, tremendous performances and some fantastic moments.

San Andreas  Movie Reviews

When you go to watch a disaster film, remember you're not going in there for the plot. You're going in there for the special effects and incredible moments of tension.

Does 'San Andreas' deliver these core elements? Yes, very much so.

In one word, the movie feels 'tight', as in tightly made. No needless exposition, or characters that shouldn't be there, everything on the screen works for it's place. The actors look natural in their roles. Dwayne Johnson surprised me with his abilities as an actor, the emotions of his character were real. In fact, he was the best of the lot. The special effects are done well. For a moment I thought to myself 'they've really taken time to get it right and make it realistic to a real earthquake or tsunami' because they have. Again, the plot is not the core element but it works. I won't say anything about it, except for this; while it's something we've seen before, it's done well and made interesting.

It's been an hour since I walked out of the cinema, so having chewed this movie in my mind, I could recommend it to anyone.

Dil dhadakne do is a family drama and nothing more, as my title suggests. If they are portraying it as a comedy, its a myth, don't fall for that.

Everything in this movie is related to a family travelling in a cruise to celebrate their 30th anniversary with their family and friends.

It's not like I didn't liked the movie. I quiet like the fact that they experimented this new to bollywood genre solely without mixing anything else in it to make it a commercial masala movie. But to expect that this movie will perform as a normal masala movie does is unrealistic.

This movie worked for me because of exceptional acting by Anil Kapoor and Shefali. Although I also enjoyed performance of Ranveer and Priyanka. But anyone else was on screen for such a small amount of time that the interconnected stories were not focused.

So my verdict is that it is not a made for theatre kind of movie. If you can, wait for it when it comes on TV.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani, directed by Mohit Suri, the magician of love, and written by Mahesh Bhatt, the creator of emotions, miserably fails to ignite that intensity.

What I felt after asking some viewers at the theater: characterization part is completely missing. There is no bond, no attachment, no feeling for any of the characters by the audience.

However, having said that, the weakest link in this romantic ultra- melodrama is logic. There are huge, massive loopholes in the script, and often I was amazed how they can justify that. The timeline of the movie, the gadgets used and the over usage of tears; everything is done without any research into reality.

The plot is pretty simple: Married Vidya Balan falls for Imran Hashmi, the billionaire. However, Rajkummar Rao, her husband does not want to let go of her.

With a a triangle love story, there can be immense possibilities; if you add the Naxalite angle or of you include Dubai as a location or the office romance thing. But, the director decided to get stuck with the age old formulas; in fact, those mangalsutra sequences and all tears for the 'pati' and 'suhag' stuff made me cringe in disbelief.

I was confused: why they have to go back to history, the previous blockbusters to ensure success in 2015? Why are they so afraid to try out something new, something unconventionally romantic. The love, and the purpose of love both have changed.

Fortunately, this was the first movie where Emran doesn't kiss; and unfortunately, this was the worst movie of Vidya I ever saw. She performed amazingly well, and carried out the cliché' dialogues in the most honest manner, but even her sparkling blue big eyes failed to save this movie.

I had that sinking, depressing feeling all through the movie; as if love is only a mirror back of pain and hurt and stuff. It neither arouses empathy nor any false hope; it simply narrates an unfortunate story, in the most uncreative manner.
